Blankets For Canada

Quote for the day:

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.”
His Holiness the Dalai Lama
Head of state and spiritual leader of the Tibetan people
(1935 - )

While wandering through 'The Country Register' one of our local newspapers published in Summerland, B. C., this wonderful project caught my eye:

Blankets For Canada Society Inc.
Williams Lake, B. C. Chapter
Williams Lake, B. C. V2G 4W7
Ph: (250) 392-3227 or email: creativestitchknit@telus.net

"Help keep Canadians warm. Knit or crochet an 8" by 8" square. When sewn together (by you or us), 6 squares wide by 8 squares high, just 48 squares will create a blanket 48" by 64". The finished blankets will be distributed free of charge by area organizations that serve people without shelter."

Will definitely be contributing to this worthwhile endeavor myself - i might be disabled however crocheting, sewing and computer skills are still within my abilities - so to my pals out there - come on board - 'here a square, there a square, everywhere a square square'. LOL
